Story:
Manam is all about Chaitanya (Akkineni Nageswara Rao) and how he loses his parents in childhood and get closer to them when he is in 80′s. The film has got many layers and all the threads are combined together at the end. Who is Nageswara Rao? Who is Nagarjuna and who is Chaitanya in the film? Well you need to watch the film on the big screen to find out the answers.
Performances:
ANR has excelled in the role given to him and his presence added more beauty to the film. One can understand how special this film is to Nagarjuna, after watching his performance. I would rate this as one of his best. Naga Chaitanya has improved a lot as an actor and he has delivered his best in Manam. Shriya did a commendable job and her chemistry with Nagarjuna was a treat to watch. Samantha got a very good role and her performance is fantastic. All the other artists have done their job.
Technicalities:
Manam is visually rich and the credit goes to the cinematographer PS Vinod. Anup Rubens has composed his career best album and the background score is the soul for the film. Dialogues by Harshavardhan are the major highlight in Manam. Vikram Kumar deserves appreciation for handling such a complicated script in a very simple manner so that the audience can understand the film without any confusion. Productions values of Annapurna Studios are grand.
Positives:
- ANR, Nagarjuna & Naga Chaitanya
- Harshavardhan’s Dialogues
- Vikram Kumar’s Story and Execution
- Anup Rubens Music
- PS Vinod’s Camera Work
Negatives:
- As said earlier, there is no dull moment in Manam
Finally: Manam is not a movie, its a beautiful painting. Don't miss it guys.
