Padmavati's set Put on fire Near Kolhapur, Sanjay Leela Bhansali is Safe

Sanjay Leela Bhansali's upcoming film Padmavati is in the news again. It is now being reported that a new set constructed in Kolhapur has now been set on fire.

Sources from Firstpost Hindi have revealed that close to 50-60 unidentified men set fire to an under-construction set in Kolhapur last night, on 14 March. Around 20 security guards around the set have also been involved in a physical fight with these unidentified men.

Earlier in January, activists of Shree Rajput Karni Sena protested against and misbehaved with the crew of Padmavati in Jaipur's Jaigarh Fort. They also damaged some cameras and other equipment, forcing Bhansali to stop shooting. Since then the film has been on a hiatus, and have been contructing a new set in Kolhapur.

Padmavati tells the story of Alauddin Khilji, the medieval-era Delhi ruler, who fell in love with Rajput queen Padmavati. Actors Ranveer Singh, Deepika Padukone and Shahid Kapoor star in the film. The Jaipur controversy occured as Karni Sena protestors had an issue with the alleged scene in the film that would see Padmavati and Allaudin Khilji getting intimate.
